Step 1: Set Up a Campus Visit

Step 2: Talk to an Admissions Representative
Our friendly admissions representatives are a great resource to learn more about our school and our programs. Whether you have a particular program in mind or you aren’t quite sure what you want to do, we can help you to select the right option. Step 3: Complete Your Enrollment
To complete enrollment through Bellevue Career College, you will need to complete an application and prepare to start classes. Our admissions team will work closely with your financial aid counselor to guide you through every step in the process.
Step 4: Sign Up for Orientation
Prior to your course start date, you will receive an invitation to a campus orientation. This is a great way to learn more about our campus, including where your classes will be held. You will have the opportunity to meet your instructors as well as some of your future classmates. Any information that you need about attending Bellevue Career College or to prepare for your classes will also be provided. We hope the experience gets you excited to start your journey to a new career!
Step 5: Begin Classes
We offer a variety of class start dates throughout the year, so we will find the begin date that works best for your schedule. Make sure you contact us to find out the start dates for your particular program of interest.
Step 6: Work Toward Your New Career
Once your classes begin, you will be on your way to a rewarding new career. From there, our Career Services team will take over and work hard to make sure you are as prepared as possible to enter the “real world” after your program has been completed.

What is a Certified Nursing Assistant?
Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) are healthcare professionals who provide hands-on care to patients in
medical settings under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
CNAs assist patients with bathing, dressing, and any other basic activities of daily living. Depending on
the patient’s needs, CNAs also serve meals, take vital signs, and turn or reposition patients who are
bedridden.
How much can I make as a Certified Nursing Assistant?
According to Salary.com, the average Certified Nursing Assistant in the state of California makes
$39,550 a year, with the typical range being somewhere between $33,226 and $47,211
depending on experience, education, and other factors.
What is the career outlook for a Certified Nursing Assistant?
The Bureau of Labor Statistics expects job prospects for nursing assistants, such as Certified Nurse
Assistants, to grow about 4%, about as fast as the average between 2022 and 2032. It's surmised that

the cause of this growth is due to the growing number of workers who are retiring or generally exiting
the labor force.
What are the requirements to become a Certified Nursing Assistant?
● Candidates must be at least 16 years old
● Pass a physical (health) screening and criminal background check
● Complete a California Department of Public Health (CDPH) training NATP consisting of at least 60
hours of classroom/online theory hours and 100 hours of clinical hands-on supervised training
● Pass a state CNA certification examination
What are the job duties of Certified Nursing Assistants? CNA job duties include some or all of the following:
● Answering patient calls
● Assisting with admissions
● Bathing patients
● Cleaning rooms and bed linens
● Combing hair, shaving, caring for nails, and brushing teeth
● Feeding patients, measuring and recording their food and liquid intake
● Gathering/stocking supplies for the RN or LVN
● Observing and charting patients' health issues
● Turning or repositioning bedridden patients
● Taking patients’ vital signs
